Ceylon green teas generally have the fuller body and the more robust, rather malty, nutty flavour characteristic of the teas. The Ceylon green teas tend to be darker in both the dry and infused leaf. Our green tea is mostly processed and grown in a variety of ways in the Uva province of Sri Lanka. Green tea consists of leaves that haven’t been fermented so they contain the highest level of antioxidants. Studies have found that the benefits of green tea are due to the fact green tea contains more healing compounds than many other herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables, truly making it a powerful “superfood.”
